or can i change the code now without it?
If possible get some jump leads + another battery connect + & - to the other battery this way there is no loss of power.
Question Author
cheers twr, but its for a ecu reset so need the loss of power...
Without power Joko, you will loose the Radio code if I'v understood you right.
Question Author
yes thats correct...so i need to know if the code can be found somewhere in the radio before i disconnect...is there a button or setting that will reveal it ?

thanks
Joko, I do know where the code is to be found within the Radio but because of problems on this site regards I'L Gained radios that there are about I'm afraid I cannot disclose your answer, but goping back to what I stated in my 1st answer to you, thats the way to do it other than that, you will either have to bye the radion code via EBay or the Agent,

TWR..surely the problems are because of stolen radios that have been removed from the car and need a code to use them...

this is not the case here...the radio is fully functional - because its still in my car being used!

if it was stolen the theif wouldd not be able to turn the radio on at all or access it to get to the code...so i dont understand why you refuse to tell me?

and why itd be ok for me to buy it on ebay...?

i dont need to be given the code, just information on how my radio works...

i understand you think it may help thieves so will you email it to me?

Joko, with respect, I and many others on here have point blank refused to help regards the radio codes, I am not by any way saying or inplying that your radio has been nicked, I used to help many people on here regards radio codes that was untill some B@stard stole my wifes, after that my help ceased in that area. the only suggestion I can give you without costing you money is to contact the last owner for the code or look into all your handbooks.
Question Author
thats the problem...he never gave me the manuals and now wont even answer my calls..hes a bit of a sh!tbag..didnt even send off the forms for ownership etc...i had to.
mad thing is he works in a VW garage!

as i said though, i just need the instructions...NOT a way to hack into the radio...
just what buttons to press to reveal the code...this info would be useless to a radio thief...
Joko, I will conclude on this bit of info, go on eBay type in, The Ultimate Car Radio Collection. this will help you for your requirements.
Question Author
ok. well theres nothing there on ebay for that at the moment....ill check again.

after a search online it seems there are loads of really easy ways to unlock the code but only after the radio has been locked - for a fee, but noithing that just lets you locate the code from inside a working radio...

so looks like i will have to pay them... and support the very people you are against, the people that help burgulars - with the cash they want....brilliant.
Goodness sake .. If you need an ECU reset and don't can't remove power, just disconnect the main ECU connector, leave a while and reconnect : )
