Hello guys, I need to know something. Basically I was driving when I was 17 and then I hit a car and then out of panic I fled the scene of the crime since my mates told me to put my foot down lool. Okay and then I decided to do the right thing, to give myself in to the police, I did so an hour later. Then I had attended court, they gave me a fine, they revoked my licence and gave me 8 points (or was it 9?? I cant remember). Now i have applied for a security guard licence and they have done a CRB check. Now I have received a disclosure saying that I have a criminal record and that if I contact them, the conviction MIGHT be cleared. Now just in case it dose not get cleared I want to know how long will this conviction last?? and will it affect me getting a security licence?? because I don't really want it to, but i guess its in the laws hands I guess and will this criminal record stay with me for the rest of my life??

It will last for 10 years but shouldnt affect your SIA license
In my own job I had to declare a CRB check, my advise if they ask, explain the stupidity of your actions to those who ask.
