Has anyone got one of these portable heaters that plug into the lighter socket? I am thinking of buying one but cant find any reviews on them. There seem to be many makes and models -are there any big differences?

just an opinion but i wanted one too and i was told they are worthless
Forget it.......they`re useless, expensive, and they knock hell out of the battery.
We sell them at my workplace, and they're not really worth it. They suck all the power from the battery, and don't give out much heat.
Those heaters that plug into 12 volts are junk. I have the "back seat heater"  rated at 300 watts and I tested it out once and it's been in the basement about 8 years. I think it was about $90.00. If you want real heat buy an auzilary heater which runs off of the engines cooling system or the same way a car heater is hooked up.  dave
