we are going to Prague over Christmas for our honeymoon.  Any ideas of must sees, restaurants, advice on weather and how open things are over the holiday would be appreciated.

to see - charles bridge (you'll see it loads anyway), prague castle (see everything possible within), and finally less well known would be the loretta - a stunning but peaceful church/chapel with an amazing collection of bejeweleed items that make the crown jewels look cheap !
Definately the castle. Its huge. You get a good view of it from Charles bridge when it is lit up at night. Use Trams to get around they are efficient and cheap. As in any strange city watch out for pick pockets and the like. If you fancy going outside Prague I can recommend a visit to Sedlec Ossuary outside Kutna Hora. The town also has some nice bits to visit. The train doesn't take very long and just costs a few pounds each for a return ticket. If you fancy a taxi to take you to the opera in the evening for example. Ask your hotel to organise it. I would not hail a taxi in the street. More expensive that way but safer.
Beware of the castle as many of the attractions are closed in winter (speaks from recent experience).  Ask before you buy a ticket.  we went to The Konvict Restaurant several times which has excellent food, cheap beer and good prices.  It also has a no smoking room.  You can easily walk the city if you have good shoes/boots.  You have to buy the tram tickets at a kiosk before you get on the tram so be careful.  Remember that there are many pickpockets about and wear a small shoulder bag inside your coat with the strap across your body.  Violent crime is unheard of (apparently) and credit cards are not targeted, just cash.
Hi! Be careful when taking cabs off the street. When we were in Prague we used www.prague-airport-transfers.co.uk They took us anywhere we wanted for a great price. And they have English speaking drivers. They also rent limos for honeymoons.
