Hi, when you open the bonnet look to the left of the Rad you will see the pipe going to the AIR FLOW METER check the pipe for Hair line cracks & also the clips for tightness.

hi thanx for replys guys i only got it yesterday and it had its mot yesterday so i was wondering if they had probably not tightened something or damaged a lead etc
remove air intake pipe at engine and clean the throttle body with carb cleaner. with the pipe off, carb cleaner can be sprayed directly into the intake with the engine running while revving it up by hand.
I had exactly the same problem on my 1.8 vectra. It was identified as a sensor fault when they plugged it in.
