I have a vauxhall Zafira 2000 1.8. I am confused about the timing belt change interval. The haynes manuel says every 40,000 miles while the what car web site says it should be changed every 20,000 miles.which one should I follow? Can someone help me please?

If the car has done 40000+ get it replaced other wise you will pay a hefty price, also the tensioners.
