Why do windscreens ice up more than side windows?

Invariably the ice is thicker on the front and rear screens no matter which direction the car is parked in. Must be a scientific explanation-offers, please?

Because the front and rear windows are not as vertical as the others more condensation sits on them then when it gets cold it freezes.
