exhaust problem

There is a knocking sound at the front part of the exhaust,does anyone know what it is and how much it will cost?My car is a vauxhall omega p reg 2 litre saloon.

a knocking noise,what makes you think its the exhaust.could be anything.
Check the Exhaust mountain, check the engine mountains.
TWR,whats a mountain doing in a engine bay,everest or K2, TRY MOUNTING

Does some Manifolds/exhausts not drop down from the front of an engine? I must have been working on some strange cars then!!
you certainly were if you came across mountains
could you have this problem with a hillman!

That's probably true, but not as often as her husband
You could try taking it into Kwik-Fit or similar and they'll probably have a look without charge and then give you an exhorbitant estimate.

Open the bonnet and fiddle with the top end of the exhaust ... when the engine's cool, of course. If it doesn't move around then it's something else. Exhaust systems are much more likely to get loose underneath the car or towards the back end.
ive got a mate at work and his car is doing the same he was told it is the catalyst convertor that is the problem good luck with it been a p reg i would get rid and get another car if i was you let us know the outcome has we are all still learning
