Peugeot Radio/CD player - How to get aux sockets working

I have an 05 plate Peugeot 407 and on reading the handbook, it states that the radio can be programmed to enable it to use an iPod. It says there are 2 aux sockets which need to be activated by a Peugeot dealer. Is there a way I can do it without going to my local dealer? The radio is part of the centre console, below the info screen.
