Engine stops while reducing speed or cming down in gear

HI , I wonder if anybody can giveme clue as to what could be the problem in my Ford Focus. Its engine switches off when I bring the speed down or come down in teh gear. I have to reignite the engine. Also at the same time the speedometer stops working momentarily. Car is running well otherwise. Is it the alternator or Battery causing the trouble.

Could even mean you need it servicing, air filters etc as this kept happening to one of my old cars.
