I recently bought a car, a T reg Corsa which has the original cassette stereo (which i've discovered doesn't work). So i need to buy one and get it fitted. I'm not bothered about having a CD player as i'd rather just be able to use my ipod. So i'd like a stereo that has radio and an ipod adaptor. Can anyone tell me if i am safe to buy any kind of stereo from the likes of Argos? Ie will it fit and will it be possible to wire into my car? Or do i need to be careful which type i buy?

Fitting a radio is not straightforward unless you know what you are doing. Pay a little extra and get the retailer to fit it for you - you can get their advice as to what to buy at the same time.
Fitting a stereo isn't difficult, however Halfords do a fitting service.

The Stereo will have a standard fitting on the back, you may however have to purchase an adapter which matches the wires to your manufacturer/model and also a new fascia, both are available from the like of Halfords.

However I doubt you will find one which is just a radio and even less likely one which only has a radio and an MP3 input.

Thank you for your answers, i know someone that should be able to fit it, but he is away at the moment, so what i'd really like to do if buy a stereo online so i have it ready for his return, i just didn't want to buy one if theres a possibility the connection will be wrong. I'm looking at a JVC KDG333 MP3/CD. Do either of your know if this will be compatible?
99% of stereos will fit in your car but you will also need an aerial adaptor. www.premier-recodes.co.uk
