40ft articulated truck width and height

I need the actual measurements of an articulated truck.
I know the length is approx. 40ft but need the height and width in order to plan a carnival float

@ 8ft wide by @8ft tall.
A trailer can be up to 13.6m long, max 2.5m wide (unless its a fridge[which it won't be!]) and up to 4.9m high (from ground level) and legally all lights (including side and front markers) and rear reflective marker boards and number plate MUST be visible. I know people who have been 'nicked' for obscuring the lights etc on a float. Some people are so petty!
Oh! and don't have anything below the deck forward of the landing legs, otherwise the tractor unit won't be able to turn!
Let's hope the Police at Notting Hill carnival will be arresting drug dealers and knife carrying yob's rather than checking trailer lights...
