Hi, Think Safety first of all, Loosen the wheel nuts, Jack up the front of the car, remove the wheel, Look at the Lower ball Joint, undo the Locking Nut, And Crack with a Lump Hammer, Put some Black tape on the Threaded area of the Steering arm close to the inner nuts, undo the lock nut & remove, DO NOT REMOVE THE TAPE or you will find that you have a wheel out of track, If you are unsure of the Job, DO NOT DO IT. i did all that got the end/adjuster socket part off the hub assembly and then unscrewed it and took off all the steering rack gaitor etc out the way. however its the first part thats attatched to the steering rack thats bent and i cant figure out how to get it off the end of the steering rack :-(
Hi, within the rack there is a worm this is the device that works the track rods, at the end of the rack (Tube) unless it's a sealed unit, which I dont think it is there should be large nut, a vice is needed for this remove the nut then remove the bent track rod arm, By the way!! have you not tried to straighten it out first? this will be easier, if you try it, put a spirit level on the rod to make sure it's straight on the full circumference, Again this will have to be in a large vice, And it can be done.
