Mislead into driving without insurance!!

Basically i work around the country and needed to drive for my job today!! I dont have a car or any insurance so my boss said he would lend me his car for the day!! He told me it was insured for any driver and i had no reason to doubt him!! He dropped the car off at mine after work and i drove him back to his, whilst on the way to his house, about 200 yards from my house we got pulled over by the police!! The police did there checks and all the way through he said his insurance covered me!! Then when he got his documents out of the dash we realised he had got it wrong!! I was not covered!! Now im being charged for driving without insurance!! What do you reckon my chances are of getting an acquittal?
