I have a 5 year old Renalut Clio with a squeeky wheel. Everytime I turn left at low speed, the front left wheel makes a noise like grinding metal. Any idea what this could be?

Could it be the drive ? The seal may be bursted. Just a thought, look for other replies.
in addition to my previous post, it usually results in a knocking type noise as opposed to grinding metal
Could it be the curb?!!!! hehehe I don't know what it is seriously but I'm sure my sister had lots of squeeks and weird noises coming from her Clio that was a bit older than yours and they all amounted to nothing. Get a mechanic to take a look if you are really worried though.
Sounds like a wheel bearing to me, very bad news if it is sounding as bad as you describe, get it looked at pronto, if it freezesxsolid the wheel could snap off!
Definitely sounds like a wheel bearing or CV joint (I think these are front wheel drive). Either way prompt action is required.
Get the brake disc and pads checked, sometimes the disc can flex enough to rub on the guard, maybe the guard has beed knocked and needs moved a little.
Sorry that's 'been'knocked not beed!
I'd go with Dagman. Sounds very much like worn brake pads. Get them checked/changed ASAP or you'll 'score' the discs which will result in you having to change those as well.
IF it's only on turning in the one direction it's most likely to be a CV (constant velocity) joint...these make one wheel turn slightly faster, the other slower, as the car turns and are a likely culprit if it's only happening in the one direction if it's a constant noise...if it's a rubbing type noise then brake discs and pads could be checked....could also be power steering damage...or wheel bearings...in other words a few things so get it to the garage.
