Hi guys having trouble with my escort and wondering if anyone can help. Lately the automatic choke has been playing up and revving to high at times and especially when in gear. In 4th gear i can cruise at 30mph and in 5th at 40mph without touching accelerator pedal. That has all now stopped but since that the car is really juddering when goin up through the gears. If i set off in 1st with the revs high it goes o.k temporarily and when stationary the engine revs fine. Personally i think it maybe something to do with choke but if u know any different let me know!!! If i am right does anyone know how to disconnect it or sort the problem? Your help would be much appreciated guys n girls!
