How many people would like to join with me in thanking the 14 courageous muslims who protested on behalf of Gillian Gibbons? Marian Cerrah you and others like you have to keep on going with your message of tolerance, understanding and moderation. !4 today can become 300,000 tomorrow. I for one praise your stance.

Well said
Ditto
Definitely, I have heard that Muslims all over the world, especially America and Canada have been showing their support for Gillian Gibbons. Not all Muslims are the same or think the same, I saw in a paper a muslim columnist explaining we don't have one hive mind, we aren't the borg. A muslim in Sudan is probably a very different person to a British muslim. Yet apparently we must fear them all.

It's not the religion thats generally the problem, it's the way people want to interpret it that cause the issues.
Amen to that!.....no, seriously
Yes, thanks to them.

14 is a very large number, but why are they being so ' courageous ' in protesting against an obviously backward load of codswallop ? The question has neatly encapsulated the whole flaming problem.

I will wait with baited breath for the 300,000 response tomorrow.
yes well said everton, ironically teddy bear mohammeds are now selling like hotcakes!

These 14 people offer a voices of reason when perhaps within some circles of their community they will be criticised. Tomorrow they'll be back in their homes living their normal lives, continuing this argument and (hoprfully) winning. I think the fact that women were involved in this is telling, apart from Iran and Palestine one does'nt see muslim women marching in protest.
When one remembers the protests over the Danish cartoons their actions seem all the more courageous.
Hopefully this will inspire more people (of all persuasions) with a like mind to stand up.
I confidently predict that there will not be even so many as 300 let alone 300,000 muslims taking to the streets to protest the severity of the sentence.

14. Good on them, but WOW ? They have probably detemined their own fatwahs.
interesting.

Do you know where the honey you buy comes from? (if you buy honey lol)

Lets all stop buying their honey!
14 brave men to say the least! Good for them!

Funnily enough it was in The People that I read it.
To focus on how many showed up is really a case of scratching where it does'nt itch, contrast the scenes in the Sudan (in The People) with machetes, contrast it to the scenes over the Danish cartoons and their slogans...
These are there neighbours, these are part of their congregations coming into their mosques trying to perjure their religion. You can't blame them for those who did'nt turn up, but by their example others may follow.
Simple analogy imagine you're a West Ham fan (hard I know) and you're playing Millwall in the cup at the New Den, West Ham score the winner in the last minute. Are you gonna cheer? Because that's what they've done, if there are 14,000 fanatics in Britain matched by 14 moderates and the others inbetween are indifferent. Who's going to take up the fight for righteous? Is a thousand to one not brave enough for you.
I sincerely believe that those who are quick to criticise (and I condemn this teddy bear nonsense wholeheartedly) should be equally quick to praise. From small acorns...
I salute them.
To be honest we should have all joined them and stood outside the Sudanese Embassy and made our displeasure known and supported Gillian Gibbons. We British are a bit too reticent at times.

P.S.
For the West Ham analogy I meant to add that your standing in the home end on your own.
Millwall still not under control then 123everton?
No sorry it's not a small acorn, Islam will never ever march against itself, because Islam is Islam, and if push came to shove I'll bet that 99%+ of ' British ' moslems would tacitly nod at the sentence and then scuttle back indoors.

She's behind bars, being well fed and treated.
Sounds like your average Scouser to me !!!!

Yawn.
Mmmmmmmm, Rudolph Hess protested his abhorrence for Nazi Germany and parachuted in to England as "a peace envoy". Didn't stop him being (in)directly responsible for the massacre of 6 million innocent lives did it? Crimes of which he was subsequently tried for.

Sorry, but I hold no praise for these 14. Whilst in the paper shop this morning at least 14 people purchased a newspaper within two minutes and no doubt will be viewing the pages with utmost disgust. If THEY protested they would probably be arrested under various public order acts, hence we don't. Muslims can do what they want in a public forum.

14 people may have protested against this, but how many were there protesting against the cartoon of the peadophile Mohammed in London, concernong DANISH publications??

I would bet my house that the 14 are merely there because of self interest in their vicious faith and can see the public dissatisfaction with it.

I wish the 14 the same as I wish anybody who practices a faith that allows the raping of babies, the beheading of gays, the beating and stoning of women, an ultimate death wish for anything western and ultimate hate and evil across the entire world.

I will leave it to your imagination what aforementioned wish is!!!
