freeview freezing

i have an lcd samsung 40inch with freeview box pioneer i have probs with pic freezing / blocking when certain lights (not fluorescent )switch on /off, i have the lot going thru a belkin surge socket panel. has anybody tried a "mains conditioner" there suppose to smooth out the electrical supply and stop this type of problem but they are expensive �50-60 advice welcome ps the signal is high strength,its not the aerial
