My wife had a minor accident more than 1 year ago. It was cosmetic, no structural damage. The insurance company organised for the car to be repaired and the repairer provided a courtesy vehicle during the repair.. Since then we have changed Insurance Companies. We are now trying to sell the car and a prospective buyer has told us that the car is now a Category D. Is that possible from a minor accident and does the Insurance Company have to tell us that they have done this?

just ask your car insurance person t,hey should tell you what class it is. if they are a good respectable company or I would change companies , tell them you need a print out signed stating what class it is that your going to sell and they want that info confirmed thats all I know good luck
Can't see how, if the Insurers repaired the car, that it can be a CAT D. Could it have been damaged before you bought it?

Thanks for your answers. Turns out the prospective buyer was trying to take advantage of me not having a HPI, by telling me his information was that the Car is a Cat D Write-off, obviously a ploy to get me to lower the price considerably. Seller be ware.
