Shockabsorber Bush?

i have had my Peaugeot 206 MOTed and on the notes it says that there is some wear on the part above.

Please, can someone explain what this part is?

This is a shock absorber

The bush is the rubber insert inside the hole at bottom left. This is where it connects to the axle by the wheel. Easiest just to change both shocks rather than just the bush.
I don't agree that it is easiest to change both shocks.
What is true is that it would be PREFERABLE to change the shocker with the defective bush, at which time it will also be advisable to change the other shocker.
it is easier to change both shocks. you probably cant get replacement bushes anyway.
