A friend of mine has hit a car with a Golf Buggy, causing a lot of damage. Who is liable to pay for the repairs and what insurance if any should he use?

Your friend is liable. If the golf buggy is insured he should use that, if it isn't, he'll have to pay out of his own pocket.
Sometimes your home contents insurance will cover you for personal liabilities - your friend should check that if he is not insured any other way

Thanks, he asked at the Golf Club who said they weren't liable.

He didn't sign a form when he hired the buggy, which gives them the disclaimer! What do you think?
the golf club should have insurance that would cover the cost of any damage caused by the use of their buggies, but if as you say he signed a form to say it was his responsibility if any damage was caused, but i would consult a solicitor about it as i think the golf club must be held liable for it,i often hire a buggy at golf clubs and have never signed anything beforehand.

He didn't sign a form before taking the buggy out. He didn't sign one at all. Does this make a difference?
