Rear Speakers in a VW Polo

Just got a lovely new Polo - the S model. The rear audio speakers don't seem to to work - do I need to get a better stereo or can I have them wired in/ switched on?

Surely if the car is new it is under warranty ?

Turns out only the front speakers are wired in on the S model. Rear only on the SE, GTi and Sport.
