vauxhall astra 1.7TDI "missing" between 2500-3000 revs

i have a W reg 1.7 vauxhall astra TDI and every morning it starts up fine but then when i drive and try to accelerate it starts to miss between 2500-3000 revs. I try to accelerate but it won't go - it sort of chugs. then it gets past 3000 revs and starts accelerating fine again. once its warmed up it doesn't do this - it seems to happen when its cold. It has been to 7 different garages over the past year and no-one can solve the problem. i just had the EDU reconditioned and even this hasn't worked. I am absolutely at my wits end. please can anyone help???!!!!
