do not clean the panels you are going to paint wit t-cut or any other polish it is full of silicons wich will react (mdoo98) has not got a clue wot hes on about im a spray painter u will have to flaten the panel with 13000 wet and dry the use a stuff called panel wipe witch will remove all all silicons and anything that will upset the paint
Question Author
thanx, mad jon. that what ive done had no intention of Tcuting anything, should have been more specific, just wondering if there is a home made altenetive to pannel wipes.
and as a follow up question, i keep getting the orange peal effect when sprayin the pannles, should i spray a coulple of coats and 1200 grit to smooth it then lacker it and buff or us a rubbing compound?
in ur expert opininion, me being but a young upstart eager to learn

the best thing you can do to stop orange peel is build a good base coat of paint leave for 24 hours then flaten with 1500 wet and dry with sope and water then buff up with a compound (is it a metalic paint?)
panel wipe is very cheap from any paint suppliers but petrol on a clean reg is jus as good
Question Author
no its not metalic paint, didnt think there would be any harm in putting some lacker over the top,
if you paint the panel then flaten it with wet and dry and put laquer on it the finish will be very poor as i said before
a good thick coat of paint 2-3 coats flaten it with 1500 wet and dry compound wit a stuff called g3 its wot all the pros use if you can get a lone of a dolly buff to do this you will get a very good shine (ps as i said im a pro at the and we get orange peel all the time you need to flaten it out same with runs they will flaten out to )
