would it be possibleto make my own trickle filter to fit under my hood on top of my tank and what size should it be for a 200ltr tank

Of course it is.....all you need is a long, flat container that fits under your lid with an outlet in the bottom, filled with filter media and a water supply up to the filter from the tank.

What do you intend to make one from. You could go round a few kitchen shops and find plastic storage containers....which come in an array of shapes and sizes or you could make one out of glass....easy to do but make sure you get whoever cuts the glass to polish the edges otherwise you'll end up slitting your wrists every time you put your hands in the tank.
