faulty tom tom cradle

I've had problems getting my tom tom to stay put in its cradle. I think its secure, then it flies off in the middle of a journey (not ideal - or safe). Thought I was only one, but couple of mates have same problem - they reckon its a design fault and maybe someone's designed a better cradle to buy.
Anyone else out there got a flying tom tom? If so, how'd'y fix it?
