there are very few retailers in england selling it at the moment,by the way it will not work in any pre 1992 cars and in common rail engines.
heed what norm says. check with your car manufacturers advice or you could finish up having your engine rebuilt.

Well my pre '92 diesel runs perfectly happily on 100% veggie, as do all XUD's!! Do you mean post '92 Norman??

Aka-it depends on what you call 'bio' diesel: if you drive in Europe that's mainly all you get, a 5% or 10% bio mix, it's almost impossible to find straight diesel in France now, and all diesel engined cars are happy on it, even the new generation of high pressure common rail engines will run on pump bio with no trouble.

When you buy pump bio-diesel at the pumps (try Morrisons) in this country, it's normally a 5% mix at the most, but are you after a proper carbon-neutral bio fuel for an older low pressure mechanical injector engine? If so, you won't find it at the pumps: you'll either have to make it yourself, or use SVO (supermarket veggie oil...don't forget to give Gordon & Tony their tax...) or you can buy it tax-paid over the web from a lot of cottage producers.........do a web search on bio fuel.
im only going by what a lot of people have said about it and certain retailers giving out warnings, check out www.angeltuning/bio diesel, by the way,i knew you would have to disagree mr rusty.
if you use bio diesle your car looses power not enough sulphar in it ,car will run ok for so long then diesl pump will souned loud dont use it
it would of course help if we knew the car!!

But you're incorrect madman06, with regard to mechanical injector'n'pump engines, anyway:

For many years it was a requirement in germany that diesel engines should be capable of running on 100% bio fuel...any car with a Bosch pump and injectors runs fine on it, better than on dino-diesel, in fact: better performance and more MPG. So any Merc or Beemer up to the early 90's will run on veggy with no mods at all, as will any car with a Bosch system.

When electronics come in, with common rail and electronic multi squirt injectors then it gets more problematic....this is because of the viscosity issue but can be overcome with a twin tank system, but they still have to start on pump diesel.

It's a complete myth that bio fuels or SVO will cause damage, put about by H.M. C&E who do not like people making their own fuel...do a web search on bio fuels and you'll find it's a huge cottage industry in this country, and there are a lot of people who have run diesel cars for years on bio fuels with no adverse effects whatsoever-myself included.
