The central locking makes a loud gring noise

I have got an MG ZR on a 54 reg, recently, when I acivate the central locking mechanism on the car it has started to make a sort of grinding noise sounds like gears are not meshing, as anyone come across this what could it be. it doesn't do this when I use the key to activate the central locking, as anyone got an idea what it could be.

Hi. I bought a 53 plate MG ZR recently and it makes a really strange noise when i lock and unlock it- like im waiting on a receipt being printed or something!! LOL. I believe it means the central locking motor needs replaced. Cost about �45 for a new one apparantly..?
