I have a 1998 Seat Alhambra with the VW 110 TDI Diesel engine, Starts 1st time when cold, but is slow to start when hot. The engine turns over fine just takes a while to fire.
Anybody had similar problems or have any ideas what the fault is?

hi, I had the same vehicle and very pleased with it. never had your problem but mine had 170,000 on clock when p/exed. and never had any trouble with engine at all,but can I suggest you try a bottle of redex in your fuel, as it made all the difference to the running and much better m.p.g. also when I started mine from hot or cold I never touched the throttle or the clutch, but definitely try the redex, got mine at asda for 2.99. magic stuff.
all the best. alf.
Sometimes when injectors become worn, fuel leaks into the cylinders making starting difficult. When the engine is left for a while (to go cold), the diesel disappears and the engine behaves normally.
buy a coolant temp sender bout 25 quid sort your problems right out.
