I have a P reg (1996) Nissan Almera 1.4, up until this morning everything was fine.

Just got into it and turned on the ignition, silence, where normally I can hear the heater.

The switch has four positions , nothing in the first three, and only works on full.

Any ideas, before I get fleeced by a garage for what could be something simple.

I have done some research and this agrees with tom's answer, however anyone know where it is located?
It may be attached to the motor under the plastic trim beside the wiper motor.
must be a common fault my wifes got an R reg 97 almera and that got the same problem last year, but weve done nothing about it, and selling it next month, will let the next owner know.

It was the resistor pack, I got one via someone who was breaking and identical model for 25.

They cost 60 to 70 new.

Fitted it myself in under 5 minutes.

It is situated inside the car, behind the glove box.
