I know someone with a '94 1.3 Corolla estate with 125000 miles on the clock. I'm pretty sure the clutch is slipping and it is getting worse so i presume it is going to fail, does anyone know how much, and if it is possible to get a replacement for a car that old? presumably you would be looking at a clutch from a scrap motor or something??

hi
you could probably get a new one,
but it'll triple the value of the car,
scrap it, flog it- tell your friend to get a newer car with less miles
Buying something like a clutch off Ebay is not advisable as if it is faulty you have labour costs invovled that you will not get back off the seller. Best bet is to buy a clutch from a reputable motor factor. Ask for a good brand of clutch (e.g. LuK, ADL etc) these should only be about 40 for the part. Do not fit a remanufactured clutch!!!! Ive had loads of problems with reman clutches.
