When the service is done, the Service Technician is supposed to link the car to a diagnostic device that allows him to reset such that the car 'knows' the service has been done. Third-party (non-Nissan) servicing companies can buy the equipment necessary to do this, and are entitled to provide service that does not negate the manufacturers warranty - provided they use waranteed parts for the service. You would be well-advised to use such a service provider or you may invalidate your manufacturers warranty. It sounds like your service agent either forgot to do the reset, or hasn't got the equipment. Suggest asking him.
