You can do it yourself for about 30 (cost of pads). tools required (other than wheel removal toold) pliers, hammer, solid narrow diameter steel pin (small nail?).
Just remove the front wheel. There's a small pin runs parallel to the axle (4mm diameter) at the bottom of the brake shoe assembly - this can be tapped out AFTER removing the split pin holding it in. You should then be able to flip up the retaining assembly revelaing the brake pads - slide them out (they might have brake sensors which just disconnect).
The new pads will definately not fit because of wear on the old pads - unscrew the lid of the brake fluid reservoir in the bonnet, then use a length of wood to lever back the brake piston (opening up the gap in which the new pads will fit - dont worry if they're loose, a swift press of the brake pedal once reassembled will close it all up again).
Dont forget to put the split pin back in and reconncet the wring. Be sure to replace both front brakes at the same time! good luck - if all else fails, haynes will help for another 15
