I've just bought a digital timning light for my old vw but when I use it the readout jumps all over the place and is unusable, I've tried this on different leads, reversing the inductive pickup but no luck. This is for RPM, advance, dwell, everything so now I am at a loss. Anyone got any ideas ?

sorry, it may be duff, i use an old strobe type on me beetle, works for me

Don't think it's duff, a friend came round with his snap on and it was doing the same thing. Can't work out why though
