'02 ford focus and when I am driving the whole car cuts out. The engine stops as well as the radio, lights, power steering the lot, like the battery has been disconnected. I replaced the battery only a few months ago.
This has happened a few times now sometimes when I have been stopping at traffic lights other times when I have been doing 30-40 mph!

Any ideas?

You could have a problem with the ECU . I would get it checked out sooner rather than later as this could cause you to crash .
It may be something ridiculously trivial like a slack earth connection going by the symptoms you've given.
Have you double-checked all the connections since replacing the battery? It's almost certainly an electrical fault which will be easy to fix, but the trouble is finding the damn thing.
Good luck.
