Has anyone bought a car thru an online carbroker and, if so, have you had any problems. The one we looked at keep the logbook for the first 6 months, I suppose it must be why they sell new cars cheaper, all to do with leasehire or fleets or something, but how would this affect my car insurance if I were not the registered owner

I would never be happy to buy a car without its log book. If you look at kwikguides.com it is about buying a second hand car, but if you click on paperwork it says never buy a car without its log book. For one you can`t check the chassis number to make sure its the same car.
its a con,leave well alone
Any reputable seller would give you the log book - there is no legitimate reason for them not to. It sounds like they are rogues. Go somewhere else Dorismay.
I used

www.car-finance.net and found them to be really good. Bought a new Golf GT TDi from them and got a cracking finance deal too.

I also had a Focus ST ordered through www.newcardiscount.com but they just delayed and delayed (they're pretty hard to get hold of if you want a new one) but in general their dealings were really good and communications were excellent.

Don't go for the one you've looked at. Looks well dodge.
