hi

i have a glascape emergency escape tool, GS1
"for rapid escape through single or double glazing -in seconds", by dicon international ltd

i have ordinary glass windows so don't need it in my house, but i wondered if anyone knew if these could be used in a car? i know the glass is different but would this work?

it says on the back - GS1 is designed for domestic type float glass, use models **** **** ** for toughened glass double glazing.
unsuitable for laminated glass - i.e patio doors

thanks

It might just chip your window or it may break it , try emailing the manufacturer to see, i know some cars like mercedes have them.
If it's heavy, with a sharp point, it'll do the job ... however, the car-specific ones have a shielded blade for cutting seatbelts.

its a kind of small box that contains a spring loaded metal point, that you hit with your hand and it shatters the glass. it is supposed to be stuck onto the glass and stay there until needed.

i guess i'll try to email them - or just get one of those little hammer types

thanks
