peugot suffering pmt????

my works car is a peogot 406 turbo diesel estate r-reg.the problem is it will not go in the heat.early mornings or late evenings she goes like a bomb.however during the day it has no drive when changing gear.it loses speed and power for about ten seconds.ths beast has been torn apart everything that can be changed has been and still it goes slow.it could be deemed as dangerous coming out of the junctions and when overtaking your taking a chance. any suggestions???

Got a similar problem with a 2 year old 206 HDi and beginning to wonder if it's the turbo that's not liking the heat. If the intercooler can't keep the turbo air cool then it won't be able to get as much pressure into the engine and might cause it to be very sluggish.

Also, do you have the air-con on (if it has it) as that seems to pull things right down.
could be this -"below the diesel pump is a vacuum for the intrecooler and the diaphragm may be split or a pipe near it "
