I have a couple of rust patches on my car that are not in plain view as one is right under a headlight and the other is obscured by the boot lid so was wondering if there is some hammerite type paint available in a colour to match my car(burgundy) that would allow me to stop the rusting albeit rather crudely !

If it's only surface rust better to treat the areas with something like Kurust and then touch in with an aerosol of the correct colour.
Agreed, Any decent motor factor will have a range of rust treatment products, and small paint aerosols to match your car.

Hammerite is great on your garden gate, and its quite expensive as well.
You will never stop rust in this country.

thanks guys ! i know hammerite is not for cars but i was wondering if there is a hammerite type product available.
When i used to paint the cars for vauxhall and the motorshows and alot of test cars to repair we had an acid type stuff that when brushed onto bare metal it would turn it black and delay rust for a few more years, what it was called i cant remember , i know it was very good and then you prime with acid etch primer and then paint over the top.

hope this is of some help :)
