I've been told that there is something (I think it's called blockseal) that will do an effective job sealing a headgasket without taking the head off. Has anyone heard of it or something similar. Cheers

yes there are a quite a few different brands, the better quality ones have ceramic in them. but really it's hit and miss depending exactly where your head gasket is blown, or is your head cracked, block cracked you really don't know for sure until you pull it apart.you could try it, may work, may not, draw back being it tends to clog up radiators and heater cores. i would suggest getting a piece of hose and by-passing your heater core or joining the inlet outlet hose with a piece of pipe, preventing the sealer from entering your heater core. but depending on the relationship you have with your car and it's value you may want to consider fixing it properly.

i used one many years ago and for the life of me i cant remember the name of it......anyway, to my surprise it did the job perfectly!!

good side/bad side.....i sold the car straight away at an auction and got good money for it....the person who had it may of had problems later??

i think it was magiweld??????
