I have noticed quite a few scores on my windscreen in the path the wiper blades take. When inspecting the blades there are no signs of damage or tear on the rubber. Why are the scores then happening and is there anything i can buy to remove the scores.I dont know if it is relevant but the wiper blade rubbers are quite soft.

If the scores are light you will be able to polish them out with a very fine abrasive - if you can get some jewellers rouge it will do the trick. You can buy a kit for polishing out light scoring from Frost have a look on here - www.frost.co.uk. The damage will have been caused by fine grit which has been on the blades while you were using them. When you wash the vehicle make it a habit to lift the blades up and give them a wash too.
Also be careful if birds have bombed your screen too, they aren't too fussy what they swallow with their food such as soil and small stones. Try to clear the screen with a wet cloth first, the wipers only dilute their mess and push the bigger bits onto the glass.
