I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to go about selling an old mini (1983) which has been off road for over 2 years now.

The vehicle is not in a very good condition so I am not expecting much for it but need to sell in by 10 June.

I have thought about ebay but am worried that any profit I make will go in commission.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Try miniwold mag online (http://www.miniworld.co.uk/). They have a large classified section and I think they charge a flat fee of 10. Also www.minifinity.com which has a busy and FREE classifieds section. When I recently sold a 1991 mini I found autotrader the best, but I was not in a rush to sell. Also try local papers (maybe fish4cars) as well as newsagennt and post offices who will often put up cards for a couple of quid. I wouldn't rule out e-bay, if you really want rid of the car but it on a 10 day listing and start the bidding at 1.

Hi Forrey

We've sold several cars through ebay, I don't know how much you were expecting to get for it. But thought I'd let you know, the listing fees are 6 (plus any photo upgrades, like gallery) and if you sell for less than 2grand the final valuation fee is 15, this changes to .75% up until 4,000 and when its then fixed at 30.

Had a quick look on ebay, without knowing anymore about your model etc, they seem to be selling for around 300 for on the road. Depends how much you are hoping to get. I'm sure the owners club will be able to give you an idea of price, its whether they will be able to sell it for you before the 10th June.

Good luck!

Hi there,

My boyfriend is a mini enthusiast, and I would agree with all the replies so far - his first look is at eBay, then the mini mags, miniworld, minimag....

You will get the quicker sale I would imagine (he's the enthusiast and not here at the mo!) on eBay listed for restoration or spares and repair.

Good luck!

Hi all, thank you for your responses. I have posted my mini on ebay and he is currently going for 77.00 which is exciting. I was expecting to have to pay to have it removed!
