i recently drove my parents home and when they got into my 3 dr hatchback 1.2 fiat punto it started making a noise - is that normal and also when they got out of the car.

is there a problem with the suspension or anything - im just worried now.

also can i get a garage to raise my suspension so when i go over the nasty bumps in london, it wont hurt my car so much.

THanks for any advice given.

I can remember these having a noise if fully loaded and the mudflaps were positioned too low. The flaps caught any bump causing a noise.

my car doesnt have mud flaps....
it may be a wheel bearing! is it a droaning noise esp at higher speeds
Question Author
no when i go at normal or high speeds its ok - just over the bumps and humps it makes a noise and moves up and down too...

is it an older shape punto?

sounds like the rear radius arm is worn

Question Author
no its a 03 plate.
Are you sure that the noise wasn't your parents commenting to each other about your driving too fast etc...
Check to see if the exhaust is loose. I had and older Punto and the exhaust mounts went and it made a racket going over speed bumps (also when breaking)
Question Author
qapmoc - no its not my parents commenting on my parents! i should know what my parents should like!
