My x reg escort is squeaking from the front passenger side every time it goes over a bump. I've been told it's the wishbone. Is it dangerous to drive while I save up to get it fixed

Yes agree with above.
My 94 escort has suffered the same thing recently. The squeaking lasted about a fortnight before the car lost it's steering feel and eventually began to experience a second phase of role in quick cornering. Quiet scarry the first time it happens. My car's driven on some of the roughest roads and not sympathetically so your's may last longer. It's not too difficult to fix yourself only three bolts just a little tricky to get to unless you can jack it up high enough. You can pick up a single wishbone for as little as 20.
