My drivers' side electric window packed up, and I had a new switch fitted. This improved it going up, but it gets to halfway point then slows considerably before struggling to fully close. I tried it with the engine off today, and it couldn't go more than halfway up, with a lot of noise. Can anyone diagnose the fault?

hi sounds more like the window channeling out of alignment ie too tight, can be adjusted by removing dooor trim and you will find bolts on end of channnel, dont know what car you have but it applies to most.
I get fed up asking "What car are you talking about!"
