The drivers side electric window on my Ford Escort has been playing up for a while. It goes up, but as it gets to the top it tilts to one side, leaving an open gap down one side. It will go up properly if i push it toward the gap as it is raised. Now, sometimes when I push the button, it won't even move up or down.

Anyone had similar problem? How much did it cost to repair? or How much (approx) should I expect to pay?

A friend told me that the window might have come of the rollers. Is this something I could correct myself? Also in this case it will be cheaper, as the mechanism will not have to be replaced.

It looks like the the grove that glides the glass up and down have come away. It means taking the inner cover off the door and looking for any missing or loose nuts or bolts. If you dont know how to do it take it to a garage.

All the best.
