my p reg escort has a humming noise coming from somewhere like wheel bearings or something but i took out the rear bearings but loads of grease on them but i still have same problem????????

nothing to do with the grease. If a wheel baring has a slight dent or chip, this causes it to stop acting as a small ball, thus not spinning around properly, thus causing your wheel to ultimately seize.
Bearings can wear out and usually have excessive play, rock the wheel top and bottom when jacked up, spin and listen for a rumbling noise. You need to identify which wheel the noise is coming from if it is not bearings, could be CV joints or brakes.
