as kindly pointed out by tubeway, in a previous post, the ford foucs has a double lock feature when the key fob button is pressed twice. Anyone know what this is? what the diference between the normal locking (one press) and the double locking (2 press)?

hi

put simply when you press the remote twice the door latches cycle twice.so if somebody smashed the window they wouldnt be able to open the door from inside, which they could do if only locked once.

thanks alot!
it's called double locking or dead locking. as essex bloke said if some one breaks in the door can be opened on onepress, on two presses the door is only openable on the remote button or using the key in the door. sit in the car and try it.
