It's a word dreamed up by advertising and marketing companies to describe a method of gear changing on cars that they hope will draw in more unknowlegable customers!
Easytronic works via three electric motors: one operates the clutch, another selects the next gear, and the third shifts into it. If you slip the selector lever into the middle of the gate, a short tip forward moves things up a gear, and a short tip backwards goes down the box.
What is easytronic? In a word...RUBBISH!!! Don't get it, stick to manual. I presume you're referring to a Vauxhall Corsa, or something? Honestly, they're not good boxes, stick to manual.
Easytronic.......advertising rubbish!! Neither one thing nor another. If you want to change gears go for a manual box...... if you want automatic then go for that instead.
Personally speaking I'd go for automatic all the time particularly when you still have the 1-2-3-H options.
Each to his/her own but we can all do without being blinded by un-necessary gimmicks just to introduce another "new" idea.
The basic motor car, a box with a wheel at each corner, has barely altered in the last 50 years.
The London Routemaster bus, and many others, had a form of semi-automatic transmission half a century ago.
It's about time we moved into whatever the next phase of development should be but there is too much power in the hands of the oil companies. Don't hold your breath waiting.
