sidelamps work also main beam,switch dip on they go out all lights work ,,,but dipped h/lamps?


also my heater fan will not work.any ideas

Sounds like a fuse or a relay.
The last person to have this problem had a melted relay base under the steering wheel area. Could also be the switch. Get a new one at the scrappies.
yeah m8 it is a relay socket that has melted if you look under the fusebox you will find that the fuse box has melted a relay.remove the fusebox and solder new wires direct onto the relay.
contacts on relay may not be making properly causing arcing hence getting hot! try removing relay and slightly twisting the contacts to make a proper connection!
ford escort suffer with fuse box problems.new fuse box required.headlamps are fused left hand and another for right hand lamp.it wont be a fuse blown. internal circuit board in fuse box.
